Dr. Omaima Mohamed is a medical doctor with a strong interest in tropical medicine and global health, driven by a commitment to addressing health challenges in resource-limited and conflict-affected settings. She was part of the first cohort of the End the Neglect Initiative Research Fellowship, an experience that played a transformative role in shaping her research journey.

During the fellowship, Dr. Mohamed strengthened her skills in scientific writing, including structuring research papers, developing clear and coherent arguments, and maintaining academic integrity through proper citation practices. She also enhanced her ability to communicate complex medical and global health concepts, while gaining deeper exposure to systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and epidemiological study design.

Although she had prior publications, the fellowship marked her first experience writing a commentary article, further refining her critical thinking and analytical writing skills.

Currently serving as a Research Assistant in the Research Office, Dr. Mohamed aims to contribute to impactful research in infectious and tropical diseases and to advance global health equity.
