On Saturday, December 27, 2025, the End the Neglect Initiative implemented a community health awareness campaign in Hajar 7 settlement village, New Halfa Locality, Sudan. The activity targeted women and children, reaching a total of 42 beneficiaries across different age groups. In addition, a seminar attended by approximately 100 healthcare workers strengthened clinical knowledge on managing mycetoma cases. The project also included a research component, collecting data and biological samples from patients to study disease epidemiology. By integrating education, training, and research, the initiative supports evidence-based strategies to combat mycetoma in endemic regions.
The End Dengue Fever Project by the End the Neglect Initiative highlights a comprehensive approach to public health in New Halfa, Kassala State, Sudan. Health education campaigns were conducted at New Halfa Teaching Hospital and Dahab Abdeljabir School Shelter Center, reaching over 380 individuals, including displaced populations. The initiative also distributed mosquito repellent creams to support disease prevention. Alongside these efforts, a research study assessed healthcare workers’ knowledge and practices regarding dengue fever, collecting data from 100 participants. By integrating community outreach with research, the project strengthens both prevention efforts and evidence-based responses to dengue fever.
During World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week (18–24 November 2023), the End the Neglect Initiative conducted a public health campaign in New Halfa, Kassala State, Sudan. The campaign took place at New Halfa Teaching Hospital, local markets, and pharmacies, reaching approximately 385 individuals and covering 25 pharmacies. It focused on raising awareness about antimicrobial resistance, highlighting the dangers of misuse and overuse of antibiotics . By promoting responsible antimicrobial use and educating communities, the initiative contributes to efforts aimed at reducing the growing threat of drug-resistant infections.
