In parallel, a research study was undertaken to explore the epidemiology, prevention, and management challenges of snakebite envenoming in Sudan. End Mycetoma Project

The End Mycetoma Project by the End the Neglect Initiative demonstrates a comprehensive approach to addressing neglected tropical diseases in New Halfa, Kassala State, Sudan. A health education campaign at New Halfa Teaching Hospital reached over 520 individuals, including patients, visitors, and healthcare staff. In addition, a seminar attended by approximately 100 healthcare workers strengthened clinical knowledge on managing mycetoma cases. The project also included a research component, collecting data and biological samples from patients to study disease epidemiology. By integrating education, training, and research, the initiative supports evidence-based strategies to combat mycetoma in endemic regions.

End Dengue Fever Project

The End Dengue Fever Project by the End the Neglect Initiative highlights a comprehensive approach to public health in New Halfa, Kassala State, Sudan. Health education campaigns were conducted at New Halfa Teaching Hospital and Dahab Abdeljabir School Shelter Center, reaching over 380 individuals, including displaced populations. The initiative also distributed mosquito repellent creams to support disease prevention. Alongside these efforts, a research study assessed healthcare workers’ knowledge and practices regarding dengue fever, collecting data from 100 participants.
