End Leishmaniasis Project

The End Leishmaniasis Project by the End the Neglect Initiative highlights efforts to address a major neglected tropical disease in New Halfa, Kassala State, Sudan. A health education campaign conducted at New Halfa Teaching Hospital reached over 411 individuals, including patients, visitors, and healthcare staff . The initiative focused on raising awareness about disease transmission, prevention, and early recognition. Alongside community engagement, a research component was initiated to address knowledge gaps and support evidence-based interventions. By combining health education and research, the project contributes to strengthening public health responses and reducing the burden of leishmaniasis in endemic communities.
