The End Schistosomiasis Project by the End the Neglect Initiative demonstrates the power of integrating research with community engagement in New Halfa, Kassala State, Sudan. Between November and December 2023, health education campaigns were conducted at New Halfa Teaching Hospital, reaching over 350 individuals and raising awareness about schistosomiasis. In parallel, a research study assessed community knowledge, attitudes, and practices, collecting data from 300 participants . This dual approach ensures that interventions are evidence-based and community-driven. By combining education and research, the initiative strengthens public health responses and contributes to sustainable solutions for neglected tropical diseases.
